Words have kept me sad for the past 48yrs. of my life.In 2009 I started reading Rich Dad Poor Dad.I put it down, picked it up again and tentatively began my financial literacy. I am in BAD Debt over my head (that is my husband and I). He is experienced in accounting.
I would like for both of us to be on the same page of our forward movement.I am at home, searching my soul for the type of business I will love to get involved with, but being unsuccessful so far, I am presently caring for my mother and mother-in-law at my home.I pray for financial freedom.I must admit I tell myself it is not my destiny to be rich.So now reading about words being so powerful. To save myself, to save my life the words in my head must change, will change.
Balance is a very important aspect of life. It is the one quality
that will help people go the distance. The finish line is measured
differently for every individual because the measurements are
based on starting level and capability. For example, the 100 yard
dash is the same distance for an Olympic athlete as it is for an
octogenarian. The only difference is in the time it is run. For
both runners proper training is what helps them go the distance.
Words are as light as air but can have the impact of a sledgehammer.
Words have caused wars (Don't you talk about my mama!)Words
must be chosen carefully for effective communication. Since words
are the most powerful tools invented by human beings, then the
right attitude must be developed to lend strength to those words.
Prior to attaining financial education through Authors as Suze Orman, Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, and many others, I had no idea about where my life was going and I had no idea how to understand my finances.
All I knew was that you need to work to earn money. I am a hard-worker, but I didn't like working in environments where someone was always watching over me and telling me what to do. A few times, my mentality was that I could start work late or anytime I wanted because I worked hard, fast, efficient, and stayed late.
I wanted to be a nurse, but my mom didn't want me to go away for college. She wanted me close to her. I alsowanted to be an entrepreneur, but I didn't know what kind of business-owner. I want to Business College, but I didn't know what to major in. So my mom picked accounting, but I didn't like it because I didn't understand it.
I've worked with a distribution company, a garage door installation company, in food service companies, in the retail industry, in the night club industry, and in various health care fields. I've also tried vaccuum cleaner sales, sales & distribution of MLM products, insurance & financial products sales, communication services sales.
I got married and I was blessed with a husband who wanted to take care of me. We were blessed with a beautiful child. And life was grand because I was content with my blessings. But then...my husband was feeling frustrated because we were not financially going anywhere, thus he challenged me in "wanting more." So as a family, we embarked on opening a home-based business caring for the elderly and disabled. But even with his income as a carpenter and our income from my self-employment, I felt there were still a lot of things missing in our path to financial "independence".
One day, I picked up a book at the bookstore...9 Steps to Financial Freedom by Suze Orman. The first time I started to read her book was the beginning of my financial education. I worked on suggested activities in her workbooks and I applied what I learned. By that knowledge, my husband and I were able to clean up our credit, and understanding the difference between good debt and bad debt, we were establishing good credit history.
The following year, a friend let me read her copy of the book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I read all the books in the Rich Dad Series. I yearned for my husband to read the books so we could be on the same page, but he was busy with construction projects, and he told me to go ahead and do what I think was going to help our family. Thus began my business planning by moving from the employee & self-employment quadrant to the business & investment.
Using my financial education, I wanted to renew my accounting & business education by going back to Business College. At the same time, my husband and I took our greatest leap of faith when we purchased our first piece of land. A dream for a carpenter to build his own home, and a dream for a entrepreneur to build & expand her business.
Sticks and Stones may break you bones but Words will hurt more
I spent the last decade of my life trying to recover from the words I heard over a four year period. "Would you like to save 10% on that purchase by applying for a credit card?" "Student loan debt is a good debt." "Every parent should have life insurance. This whole life policy will provide security." I did all the things society said to make me a success. I went to college and grad school. I got a good job. I volunteered and did what's right. Still I could not afford much and the debts appeared to grow. Not a single time did I hear words which would have made my situation better. So now, not only have a been living the wrong way, but my actions influenced my daughter to think like a middle class person too. The other day she told me she did not want to own her own business. A job was better b/c she would not have the stress of being in charge. I wanted to scream. I'm making up for lost time. So much to fix, in what feels like so little time. Thank goodness for these types of books and discussion forums. Once you have become enlightened, you cannot hide in the darkness anymore. So while those past words hurt, Mr. Kiyosaki's words heal.
How words and my understanding of them have impacted my life:
Words relate to ideas. And my understanding of the invisible world of ideas, that controls all of our lives, started when I first started reading you books, starting with Rich Dad Poor Dad.
It was then that I released that there are two sides to every transaction. I noticed for example, how easily we are lured into buying lifestyle enhancements (like cars) that are visible and give us pleasure. But we are not educated about the significance of the invisible side of the equation – the financial agreement that made having the enhancement possible.
The novelty of the enhancement soon wears off, but the detrimental effects of the financial (debt) agreement go on for as long as the contract of debt is set up for.
That is basically how people make themselves long-term slaves of creditors (banks and finance companies). By continually keeping themselves in debt for things that make them poorer.
Once I understood, through the power of words, how the invisible world of money worked, I was able to make much smarter decisions about my finances. I wasn’t duped into turning my hard-earned cash into trash. This has made a big difference to my family and me.

Coming and growing up, for the most part of my life in a 3rd world nation, is hampering. It's all true. All the quams about the education system in relation to the financial vocabulary.
Many people around me and I myself at times talk down to ourselves, or allow other people to talk down to us. Making us believe that staying in a straight line is the way to go. Thinking our of the box is risky.
But as I can still remember, I always didn't want to stay within the mold and kept feeding my mind with that which is rich. Though my family had a strong spiritual background, we still lay prey to poverty and victim mentality... and so were our words.
I can contrast my dad who was always afraid about investing since it was risky with my uncle who pursued entrepreneurship. My uncle is now more financially capable than my dad who was too afraid of taking calculated risks.
A I know grew up in a more positive spiritual family (of my choice), we are always encouraged to keep positively declaring our vision for that which matters to what we believe in.
Out of that, I was able to finally fully engage my creative mind in developing ideas that can turn into money that will in turn buy other assets. My words further transformed and has transformed me and my percepts.
Im now working on my own food business, in it's testing phase with more plans to develop other assets, in a diversified market online and offline. My words and understanding of "The Word became flesh," has a new meaning and impact. I've read that phrase since childhood, but never really fully undestood the other practical side of that statement.
Thanks Robert for taking theology into practicology. Im a fan and a co-advocate in my nation - for now.
When i look backwards towards my life, ijust realise that how much correctly words are imacting our lif. I strongly reccomend Nobel Prize Foundation to Nominate Mr Robert for His Work
I realised words are like input 'signals' that command and instruct the human soul how to function. Before realising that I was often astounded at why the bible always put so much emphasis on words and thoughts. When I changed my thought life and words, to my suprise even my health benefited, my mental dispositin was completerly altered and soon I found myself not longer in conflict with life or other people. The scales fell from my eyes.
How have words impacted your life and your finances?
More than it seems, the use of words appears to have had an impact on whether people took me very seriously. Words helped me define my aspirations quite a lot, although most other people responded to more basic things.
A word in defense of someone's rights, or the responsibility of the society to uphold them, seem to have accomplished more than an explanation of my own most fervent dreams or wishes (I still believe words can heal you physically...).
Over time, it occured to me there was a relationship. Things began to become easier. I had been very quiet about most of the things I wanted, and still tend to be quiet unless it makes a good bit of sense.
You have done quite a lot to help me recognize that various areas of literacy , particularly financial literacy, are important.
Words are powerful. Life and death are in the power of our tongues.
Positive words will create a positive results, just as negative words will create negative results. Words are containers. They carry faith,or fear, and they produce after their kind. I believe when knowledge is present attitudes and mindsets are changed for the better. Because You are what you think. Because of my lack of knowledge in finances many mistakes was made in my investments, savings, and spending that probably will take a long time to recover due to the state of the economy. However, the economy can't take away the knowledge I have gain from reading your books and playing the game you offer. I can proudly say the only place left for me now is up! because I have a new attitude and a new perspective on life. Learning how to take control over my own situation, regardless of the state of the economy. Believing that I can and will make a different, not only in my live ,but in the lives of others as I share what I have learned..
Words are a reflection of your attitude, your attitude is a reflection of your beliefs, and your beliefs determine your results. When we consciously change the words we use; we begin to change our attitude, our beliefs, and therefore our results. Compare someone who is financially poor to someone who is financially rich. The poor person will often say the word "can't." Listen for how often the rich person uses that word. It's not even part of their vocabulary. Financially rich people understand their choice of words is very, very important to the outcome of their lives.....why doesn't everyone?
I usually hear people complaining about the country we live in, this is a land of no oportunities, nobody can pretend to become rich in this times, when are you going to get a secure job and etc. I learnd to use positive words always and this is my first step on "the rich man i will be" stairs.
The use of words in a paradigm shift has redirected my thoughts and the ways I do things and interpret systems and situations. What's clear to say an engineer is totally different to say a biologist or an economist. It also shifts how we view things and dissect what's going on. If I don't understand something from one perspective, I ask a person who is an expert in that area to illustrate and explain how that approach panned out. By experts I mean who have success in that field and know how to apply that approach.
I completely believe that my words dictate my destiny. They have for a long time, since I took word for word, just as RK did, that the word became flesh.
I've gone to God with my words ever since.
Not once, but three times when I asked God to give me money, he did just that.
Once while standing in front of a bank talking with a friend, $25 blew across the ground in front of me and a nice woman was kind enough to point out that my money was blowing away!
Another time, I found $20 on the ground getting out of my car.
And again, while I was at a ski resort - I found a ticket in the bathroom, which I sold for $60.
Each time I asked, I received, specifically too I might add. Made my day!! (And, I have witnesses so don't go there)
The Art of Peace by Morihei Ueshiba states, "Your voice is a very powerful weapon" (Page 7, 1992, John Stevens). I think for the most part our voice has become a weapon, because our actions are what truly speaks for us. In this respect, our voice has evolved to a "Darwinian misfiring", as evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins would say.
Take finance: There only two types of debt: secured and unsecured. Secured debt is truth while unsecured debt is a lie. My ultimate interpretation from reading six of your books is to invest where there is a security.
That's all one needed to understand how the recent house of cards would collapse. Very simple. But an enormous financial vocabulary has been invented to make us believe finance is somehow more complicated, and it isn't. Everything comes down to the security. That is why I believe words are more of a weapon than an instrument of peace.
Take for example, these words, "Do you solemnly swear to take this man as your lawfully wedded husband, until death do you part?". Obviously, in America these words are used as a weapon of deceit rather than an instrument of commitment.
Robert, you are still married to your wife Kim. It was your actions of remaining tenacious in Vietnam and your longevity in the Merchant Marine Academy, and remaining committed to your Rich Dad's financial education even when you failed that demonstrated your belief system of commitment, not your words on your wedding day.
Words do expose our belief system. But if someone lies, their vocal inflection and body language will fail them (listen to how often politicians and media gurus stud-d-der or watch how they point their eyes toward the ground). I think that is why complex nomenclatures are invented; so people can deceive themselves first, so they can lie to others with a straight face and dry palms.
There exist only four combinations:
1. People with false beliefs who lie.
2. People with false beliefs who tell the truth.
3. People with correct beliefs who lie.
4. People with correct beliefs who tell the truth.
Only category 4 from the list above gives you the truth. Most people are in category 2, even at the highest levels of society. The fewest number of people are in category 4.
Studying a subject means learning a new vocabulary. But at the core, all subjects are the same. Whether it's finance or medicine or fractals or thermodynamics or racism, or any other subject, there are only a few common structures, constants, and proportions that govern how literally everything in the universe works.
For this reason, every subject is simple. If learning a subject proves difficult or complex, then either the instructor or the student is not in category 4 from above. Since category 4 has the fewest number of people to begin with, that is why so few people learn.
Well, I would have to say that because my mom was a transcriptionist and a legal secretary my understanding of words was pretty good for most of my life.
But to the point I experienced other people being confused by my communication methods. When I would substitute a word for something I didn't like, most people wouldn't grasp my voice!
It's been literally like playing a videogame, where it's okay to say what you want as much as you want. But when something important happens and others can help or even act as a way to help me succeed then it's like talking to a television that can't respond.
A cool visual fest, but in the end I have run into the fact people don't want to assist a person, from words, if it means they won't make as much or more then you. All though, no one can ignore body language.
yeah! words are really stupid things invented by a group of persons to confuse others.
here's an example:
i studied civil engineering in university, and i just recently started this business involving leasing and hiring of equipments/machines. mechanical stuffs, you know. of course, this involves a whole lot of maintenance operations. when i started, it was all very confusing. i mean the words. i started hearing things like: Sprocket, Gears with funny names, etc. I felt like Columbus! Now, just by understanding the words and associating them with different objects, a vista of understanding has opened up. I think this happens in every field.
i totally agree with Robert on the power of words. the Bible is replete with examples of how words shape our destinies. in Genesis, the Bible says God spoke and everything came into being. He created the world by the words of his lips.
it's amazing how people use the wrong words in every aspect of their lives, saying things like: I 'm dying, I 'm broke, etc.
Thank you Robert for changing our lives.
Take a look at your balance sheet. Do you have more assets then and income then income form a job? If so, you know the power of wealth, if not, you need to work on it. Keep in mind, that money is used as an exchange for something you want. You give me money, I give you a financial education book that will help you understand money and help you for the rest of your life. You see, money is only used as an exchange. What are you exchanging your money for that can help you to exchnage your way up to being wealthy?

Robert thank you for this great opportunity.Through your resources i have become a new man.
Words of our mouth validates the thought of our heart. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.When we utter words ,it simply cement and make concrete what our heart had believed which eventually becomes what our lives would become.I have been a victim of negative thought and by extention negative words. It is one of the heritages of the poor dad.My heart is changing now,my words are changing and i tell you my life is changing. The words we speak goes along way to channel our energy to what we believe. When we say we can't,everything that hears respond that truly one cannot.our lives remain faithful to what we have said until a change comes. This impacts our life ,our finances inclusive.
Around 1995 I was a partner in a company that failed and I had to file for bankruptcy. For the 10 years that followed (and a few years after) I was terrified of any kind of debt and did not even think of making any kind of investment. Still I found myself getting into bad debt and living beneath my means because I believed what I was told that that is being "responsible." Neadless to say, my investments were minimal and only in paper assets (mutual fund). I'm just recently starting to realize how the words I used and the words I accepted as truth have kept me from attaining assets as you define them. Reading your books have really started to change my way of thinking and I pay much more attention to the words I use. I have adopted your definition of what an "asset" and "liability" are. But to be honest, I am still a mental infant when it comes to financial knowledge. So like any infant, I just keep trying to learn more everyday and trying to change my reality.
First and foremost, thank you for this unique way to participate.
Re: words - spot on.
The lesson learned is that we mentally/spiritually have the ability to create and words are what we use. If misused because of our lack of education or knowledge in general would make no difference. We have still been given that power to create. In this respect, I guess words are a tool.
Last friday I was in a Financial Math Test in college. The test it was like almost impossible to solve all questions. But for a little time I remembered the words from Donald Trump: Never, Never, Never give up!. So, I repeated these words to myself in loud voice. When the test was finished, I discovered I got an A.
I believe in the power of words.
I understand what you mean when you talk about words defining your attitude, life, etc. However I disagree with how you use the quote from the bible "The Word became Flesh" The subject is Jesus, he is the word made flesh. Our words in no way come as close to the perfection that is Jesus coming down to Earth for us, to become flesh to same us from the sins of the flesh. God does want us to be successful, he wants us to use our talents to do more good in the world. Money is mentioned more in the bible than any other subject, it is important for living but not to come before God. Love God, respect money.
While this isn't as succint I believe it's a better way to make your point "Watch you thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become your character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny" by Frank Outlaw.
I have to say I am just coming into this project on this chapter and I don't have a clue what you are talking about. I am a 50yo single woman with basically nothing in my savings and retirement account and am only just starting to learn about making money and having money. I was never taught anything and have been so afraid of making money and having to invest it that I just don't. I don't have a clue what a hedge fund is or even a mutual fund really.
I have just gotten by paycheck to paycheck and am way behind but am positive I can change it fairly quickly now that I am learning more. I feel like my friends 6 year old who is just learning to read and is so excited about reading chapter books. It is opening up whole new world and I am very hungry for more information.
I also just really got how my thoughts are what is holding me back around all this and my beliefs about money and having it have been a way for me to remain a victim rather than taking responsibility.
The breadth and depth of meaning that we associate with words reflects a direct correspondance to the breadth and depth of our understanding of same. This applies to any and all contexts of vocabulary in our possession, be it generalized or specialized such as typified by those used within professions. Given that we express thoughts and concepts via vocabularies consisting of words, in themselves compact symbolic representations by which to communicate with ourselves and to others, it should be readily apparent that consistent meanings must be attributed to words by both 'sender(s)' and 'receiver(s)' for accurate communication to occur between them.
We cannot think in terms of words and concepts that are not familiar to us. It is also important to recognize that the quality of our actions, and therefore results, will rarely (if ever) exceed the quality of the thoughts that lead to them. Our relative command of vocabularies - and by inference the concepts to which they relate - imposes a range upon the prospects and limitations of our thinking, and by extension, to those actions and results that we are readily able to produce.
In his book 'Think and Grow Rich,' Napoleon Hill wrote: "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve." One who lacks subject knowledge, including the words by which to contemplate and communicate such material, is ill-prepared to conceive of something, much less to believe in it sufficient to produce a result that may be accurately described as achievement. Ignorance of finance and investing is no exception to this observation. It is useful to recognize that "Chance favors the prepared mind."
Starting with defined, desired results and identifying what is required to produce them, we can see that action is required to achieve them, that conceptualization and belief are critical to justify any such action, and that knowledge serves as the foundation for both conceptualization and belief. Given the influence of our beliefs upon the outcomes we anticipate from our actions, the more congruent our beliefs are with accurate knowledge, the higher will be the prospective quality of the decisions we make, as well as the results that are born of those decisions.
Sufficient knowledge of successful methods, strategies, etc. are required to envision results that we can believe ourselves to be capable of producing. Knowledge serves to bridge the gap from an idea conceived to the results desired - not only in service as a basis upon which for us to believe; but also, through provision of understanding required to conceive of plans with potential of leading to their achievement.
Relating to an individual's finances, should one lack an accurate and sufficiently comprehensive base of financial knowledge, their prospects for a healthy and satisfying financial disposition are bleak. Unaware of alternatives, traditional financial 'wisdom' leads most to unwittingly entrust their investments to vehicles of investment over which they have virtually no control. Recent economic events have clearly established that [financial] ignorance is anything but 'bliss.' For most, the investment of time and effort to acquire financial knowledge would have been far less costly to them than to have experienced the lessons served to them by recent events.
Thank you very much for this work.
I've been learning trading in stock market from Rich Dad Education and it really tells that traders are dominating the stock market. I'm learning more words about trading and experiencing from real game of trade.
I'll work on studying derivatives as you explained in very simple terms, which I could understand!
I'm very grateful for your work and your help . Thank you very much. Reading your books has been for me, like "turning on the switch" of the library in which all the "secrets" are written.
I began to take courses on line (2006) for investing by myself with the purpose to invest in real estate as soon as possible .When I came back from our vacations this summer,my porfolio was almost 50% down! Because of the kwnoledge I acquired I was able to react .
I just finished to re-read "Why I Want You To Be Rich", you were right and accurate! I decided to buy(last week) the cash flow game to educate my two boys(16 and 8), and I went wednesday june 3rd, to an evening presentation for your three days seminar planned for end of june. I can't wait to go,learn more, and take action! My feeling is ; I can better plan what I want to do, now that I understand how to play the game! Thank you for being the mentor of all those in need of a rich dad. May God bless your work. Martine.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Let my words dwell in your heart richly, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and does not return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring out and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do....... And the word become flesh.
God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent.
God spoke these words long time ago before this book was written, I am reading my Bible and Jesus words remain true always. Read how he spoke about money and investment in Mat 25:14-30, For it is as if a man going abroad called his own servants and gave them his goods. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability. And he went abroad at once. And going he who had received the five talents invested them, and made another five talents And likewise he who had received two, he also gained another two. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the earth(our present savings accounts) and hid his lord's silver. After a long time the lord of those servants came and took account with them. And so he who had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, Lord, you delivered five talents to me. Behold, I have gained five talents above them. His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. He also who had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered two talents to me. Behold, I have gained two other talents above them. His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. And he who had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew that you were a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. And I was afraid and went and hid your talent in the earth. Lo, you have yours. His lord answered and said to him, Evil and slothful servant! You knew that I reaped where I did not sow, and gathered where I did not scatter, then you should have put my money to the exchangers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents. For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will abound. But from him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away from him. And throw the unprofitable servant into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Those words have changed my life forever, they chose my friends, the books I read, and the TV shows I watch. This is because I know, WE EVENTUALLY BECOME THE CHAIN OF THE WORDS(language) THAT WE RECEIVE AND SPEAK. Any day by day I am becoming the words I put in my heart and out I speak.
I thank God for you Robert, I real appriciate what you are doing aroung the world. God bless you even more and increase you as you remain in his purpose.
I have a 4year old boy. Since he could speak I've been teaching him simple things related to money to plant those early seeds that will hopefully stay with him as he becomes an adult. Whenever he'd receive money as a gift I would ask hime "What do we do with money?" and I taught him to say "Save it!". I was very proud of that fact until I thought harder about it. Now I've taught him to say "Invest it!". Of course, that was the simple part...now I have to teach him the four categories to invest it in.
Than what actions? I think not I think misunderstood yes words can be used in any form of war but then its conflict. This no end in sight conflict of people not spending cud go on for a very long time (I mean the long war) no not terrorism or is it? I dont know market what market if there is one everyone seems to want and find a way around them that only leads to possible disaster on the horizon. I think this has affected eceryones life but how you use it can change not your life but maybe the world.
Before reading rich dad poor dad-I hadn't given much thought to the words asset and liability however after reading Robert's definition of those two words-my financial outlook forever changed. The rich make their money work to fill the asset coulm while the poor work for liabilities that many times they believe are assets. The concept is so simple-once you understand the words.
I have Financial & Time freedom. Because I do not work, I have interest income to cover insurance expenses. The second, I have a plenty of time, I want to do things.
I meet a lot of ES quadrant friends, they dedicate them time to company to work. They work in the early morning, until the latest evening. Sometimes they work on holiday.
The currently, I work on 2 hours Mon to Fri. On Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday is my holiday, I'm not to work.
I hope at 40 years old, I'll live in New Zealand to realize a native of culture.

I want to say that reading Robert's books has helped me to be aware of how important what we say is. Definitely what we say is a boomerang because sooner or later it comes back to us. Since I began reading Robert Kiyosakis' books I began to control the thoughts I had and as a result the words I said, so I started to replace the negative words for positive words until it becomes flesh. By doing this I have gained more control of my personal finances as well as my personal life.
I am aware that it's not an easy task, but I believe I am in the way to get my financial independence that's why I do want to thank Robert for his inmense help and significant contribution to improve my personal and financial life through his superb books and phylosophy. Thanks again Robert!!!
I've just finished reading your book and it's really fascinating! And i also read the criticism of john reed. It's not good but it made your book more understandable. John Reed 'lives by the book' because he thinks the world is in 'pages'.My dad is a poor dad and he saves a lot. It's something but not enough. Probably, he bought your books because he does not really want us to be like him, hard work and tax eats it. Memory works more when you are in school and when you've got a job it binds you from more important things in life. My dad never came to any of our school activities and it sucks.
I'll start reading your other books and hopefully start discussing it too!
I believe words are critical to who we are and where we are going. I didnt always think that but I am starting to realize and catch myself making a small and steady shift into a whole new world and dimension of what is possible with just a few change in the way we speak. Anything is possible is a reality.
Words materialise thoughts, reinforce existing ideas, implant new ideas, create feelings and energy which attract the "Cosmos" (as I call it so nobody gets uptight, "God" if you like, whatever your thing) to deliver. And deliver it does - in spades. So much so, I have to be careful what I wish for. Last year, a Methodist Church minister in NSW Australia asked me if I had any religion to follow. I said I don't visit churches since God is everywhere, so just live it really, and I'm careful what I ask for. He asked why. I said the reason is - provided I have already done everything possible myself toward a goal, and that goal is a win for all concerned, and I ask the cosmos for help with pure motives and a pure heart, then stand back and clear the loading dock because the cosmos really delivers.
He had to go somewhere quickly. That's OK. Now I shorten my little saying these days to "The Cosmos delivers if you know how to place the order".
Thoughts and feelings are the power, words express them and enable us to share them with others.
Words are very very powerful and that is why tongue is the most dangerous part of our body. With words we can make or mar any situation. Every thing on earth is being created with the power of word.
There is a saying which goes: Pen is mightier than sword, which states that words, either written or verbal is very very powerful and kill easier than sword.
I have come to realize and to understand the power of word. I have lots of instances that I can easily point to where word has impacted my life and my finances greatly. There are things I prophesied on myself and before I could know it they have come to pass.
Words are very important and powerful and we should always use them positively and to our own advantage.
How have words and your understanding of them impacted your life and your finances?"
It hasn't affected me in any direct way so far. (I am still very young)
School caused me to despise education and learning.
Thanks to a manager who took the time to introduce me to your books Mr.Kiyosaki, and thanks to me taking action, I have developed a whole new out look on learning, on education, on money, and on businessmen and women and on money in general
I have come to love learning and studying and improving myself. I know now the difference between an asset and liability. (I tried to explain this to the mayor of my city, when he talked about buying a exercise place with tax payer money.. this exercise/fitness center was not making a profit..and was basically a black hole for money if they way they operated does not change)
Anyways.. yeah he thought he knew more about money that I did. I still disagree with his decision, and as a constituent, I'll prove that by voting.
Anyways, I have yet to develop a opportunity to where I can use my financial education. But one is in progress and going to come to fruition.
how have words and your understanding of them impacted
I can speak for myself, very badly - as a migrant immigrant work born in the 50's, my education was less than anything close to perfect., but I made it thru 12 years of school, no college, I chose the military...the carelessness of my not reading books at a young age has impacted me in the way I lived my life, yes, I've been poor but have inched my way up the ladder, that today I'm now at 54, I'm much more better situtated in the understanding and mastery command of the English language... I have long to go still but it's the right direction, the thanks to very special people like you Robert that has really change me for what I am now becoming.. following your teachings and getting out the rat race which I'm still in - but making big big efforts to change, and all because of your books and siminars - I can only truely look forward to someday (someday) meeting you in person just to hug and pat you shake your hand ...and on the back with the highest respect one deserves..you have difinately impacted my pea brain...
What I think, believe and voice manifests. When my integrity is out, so to are the results. When my integrity is in, miracles happen with ease and grace.

The power of word/language is one of God's greatest gifts to humanity!
The words I have accumulated over the years have greatly increased my confidence and provided a since of power. I feel much more confident in my ability to make financial decisions and accumulate great wealth. The best words I learned are "the road to wealth is having a definite plan" because no matter how much money I wind up accumulating, even if I won the lottery, as long as I follow my plan with discipline, I will end up growing wealthy and know how to manage the windfall. I can truely say that I am ready to become rich because I have a "plan" or "definite chief aim" or "definite purpose".
Robert,
Have you ever considered.....would you PLEASE..... write a financial and investing dictionary???
I know there's a small glossary at the back of Rich Woman....but it's just that....small.
Your definitions, explanations, and examples are wonderfully easy to comprehend and therefor REMEMBER.
Usually when I am talking to people and have a question about a term they've used....I ask them to explain it.....but usually it still doesn't make any sense... sometimes I think that it's because they THEMSELVES don't know what they are really talking about and other times b/c they don't want ME to know what they're talking about.
I admire the valuable information you offer in your topic. I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often. I am quite sure they will learn lots of new stuff here than anybody else!

It's only over the past 18 months or so I'm learning you become the words you speak. And this even includes the words heard in one's environment.
Believe it or not, words have influece. I'm disassociating myself from the negative chatter to an environment of positive words and behavior.
With finances, I started my own network marketing business.

Can you give me some detail about financial education being deleted by the educational system? What exactly happened in 1904? Fascinating topic.
- Jonathan

Dear Mr Kiyosaki,
I'm very grateful for your work and your help .
Martine.
This has really held me back!

"Becoming More Powerful

The power of word/language is one of God's greatest gifts to humanity!
Each day you and I wake, you and I choose!
Body, Mind and Spirit creates world!
In a dramatic way. Recently I read a book by a Sydney author defining the value of money to a person as generally one(sometimes 2) of:
- Prosperity
- Security
- Freedom
Once you honour your primary value and you persue it responsibly then money becomes a tool to fulfill it.
These words have had a powerful affect on me.
Dave
Robert,
Have you ever considered.....would you PLEASE..... write a financial and investing dictionary???
I know there's a small glossary at the back of Rich Woman....but it's just that....small.
Your definitions, explanations, and examples are wonderfully easy to comprehend and therefor REMEMBER.
Usually when I am talking to people and have a question about a term they've used....I ask them to explain it.....but usually it still doesn't make any sense... sometimes I think that it's because they THEMSELVES don't know what they are really talking about and other times b/c they don't want ME to know what they're talking about.
thanks
